Taco Bell UK Expansion: Campana Secures £20m to Launch New Franchise Locations
Franchise operator Campana is set to significantly expand its UK footprint after securing a £20 million funding package to roll out new Taco Bell locations, in a move expected to create around 600 jobs.
Part of the SYMBRO Group, Campana currently operates 23 Taco Bell restaurants across the South West, Wales and the Midlands. The newly secured funding will fast-track its growth plans, with six additional sites scheduled to open across these regions in the coming months.
Looking ahead, the business aims to accelerate its rollout to as many as 12 new restaurants per year, with a target of building a portfolio of more than 50 Taco Bell locations across the UK by 2029. Future expansion will focus on key growth corridors including Wales, the South West, and along the M4 and M5, as well as further strengthening its presence in the Midlands.
The investment, backed by HSBC UK, is projected to increase Campana’s revenues by between 50 and 60 per cent as the business scales. In addition to the funding, HSBC UK has also provided a revolving credit facility, offering flexible access to capital as new sites are acquired and developed.
David Morgan, finance director at Campana, said the brand has seen sustained demand since entering the UK market: “With every new opening, we’ve seen strong appetite for Taco Bell’s Mexican-inspired offering and value-led proposition. This latest funding allows us to build on that momentum and bring the brand to even more communities across the UK.”
Paul Lane, relationship director at HSBC UK, added that Campana’s growth strategy reflects broader resilience within the quick-service restaurant sector. He highlighted franchising as a proven and scalable model, noting that the company’s track record and clear expansion plans made it a strong candidate for support.
SYMBRO Group currently operates around 60 quick-service restaurant franchises across the UK and the Netherlands, with brands including Taco Bell, Subway and Starbucks forming part of its growing portfolio.
