ChipsAway Launches New Little Dings Advertising Campaign

ChipsAway Launches Humorous Advertising Campaign to Reach Drivers with Minor Car Damage

ChipsAway, a leading car body repair specialist, has launched a new advertising campaign targeting drivers with minor car damage, often referred to as “little dings.” The campaign, which includes ads in motorway service station washrooms, aims to capture the attention of potential customers, particularly men, who make up 70% of enquiries. By using clever puns and humor, the ads aim to alleviate some of the stress and embarrassment associated with car damage.

Targeted Advertising Approach

The campaign is strategically placed in motorway service stations, which saw a 3% increase in users in February 2023 compared to the same time last year. With an average weekly audience of 5.8 million, and over 6 million during the Half Term period, the ads are likely to reach a large number of potential customers. Furthermore, 82% of male users visit the washroom, making it an ideal location for the ads.

Expert Insight and Campaign Goals

According to Group Marketing Manager Rebecca de Chair, “No-one likes having damage on their car, so we wanted to help alleviate some of the stress and potential embarrassment of that experience. Our ChipsAway specialists can repair minor damage to a professional standard, affordably and in just a few hours, so the adverts are designed to spread the word about our service, as well as make people smile when they notice their tongue-in-cheek nature.” The campaign aims to increase enquiries, particularly during the Easter holidays, and provide franchisees with the support they need to run successful businesses.

In addition to the motorway services campaign, ChipsAway will also be adapting the creative for use on social channels, with the aim of reaching as many people as possible with the humorous messaging, which coincides with the start of their 2023 TV campaign.
