Embracing the New Year with Renewed Commitment
As we step into a new year, it’s natural to reflect on the past 12 months and set our sights on the next 12. For organizations like Kings, this period of reflection and goal-setting is an opportunity to re-commit to the values that define us. Rather than reinventing the wheel, we’re focusing on upholding and living by the principles that have guided us thus far.
Our Core Values: The Foundation of Our Commitment
At the heart of our organization are five core values that we strive to embody every day: Servant Hearted, Honest, Progressive, Remarkable, and Reflect the Kings Factor. These values are not just words on a page but the guiding principles that shape our actions and decisions. By living these values, we aim to create a positive impact on our members, staff, and the wider community.
A key aspect of being Servant Hearted is seeking opportunities to serve others. In late 2024, we conducted a survey of over 13,500 members to gather feedback and listen to their voices. This feedback has already led to tangible changes, such as the reinstatement of flexible booking opportunities for children on camp. This approach demonstrates our commitment to serving our members in meaningful ways.
Encouraging Open Communication and Progress
Being Honest means being truthful and speaking up. We foster an environment where individuals feel encouraged to share their thoughts and experiences. Platforms like our Monday Morning Meetings (MMM’s) provide a space for open communication, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. This commitment to honesty and transparency is essential for our growth and improvement.
Embracing a Progressive mindset means we are always looking to improve and innovate. Following our review period in the final quarter of 2024, we implemented several positive changes aimed at enhancing our services and standards. These changes will empower us to better serve our parents, carers, Red Tops, and the organization as a whole, holding us to an even higher standard in 2025.
Striving for Remarkability and Enjoyment
Our goal is to be Remarkable in everything we do, making a positive impact on the lives of children and families who attend our camps. Our staff are dedicated to going the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of our camps runs smoothly, providing the best possible experience for all attendees.
Lastly, Reflect the Kings Factor encourages us to have fun, celebrate our achievements, and enjoy our work. While our Head Office team works diligently throughout the year, we believe in balancing hard work with enjoyment. Initiatives like our Extra Mile awards, Friday quizzes, and post-camp celebrations are integral to our culture, promoting a positive and uplifting work environment.
