Introducing Jam Coding’s International Expansion: Empowering Young Minds in Malaysia
Jam Coding, a renowned provider of coding and computing workshops, is thrilled to announce its expansion into Malaysia. After delivering thousands of hours of workshops in UK schools, the organization is set to launch a new program of workshops for schools and families in Malaysia, starting from October 2025.
The decision to expand into Malaysia is driven by the country’s emphasis on digitalization and its commitment to preparing young people for a tech-driven world, as outlined in the 13th Malaysia Plan. This aligns perfectly with Jam Coding’s mission to equip children with the skills to thrive in the digital age. As Roger Grogan, CEO of Jam Coding, explains, “We see Malaysia as a key partner in the next phase of Jam Coding’s growth, and we believe that every child deserves access to high-quality computing and digital education.”
Why Malaysia?
Malaysia’s focus on digitalization and education makes it an ideal location for Jam Coding’s expansion. The 13th Malaysia Plan highlights the importance of preparing young people for a fast-changing, tech-driven world, and Jam Coding’s workshops are designed to provide children with the skills they need to succeed in this environment. With a strong emphasis on coding, AI, digital safety, and other life-changing tech skills, Jam Coding’s workshops are poised to make a significant impact in Malaysia.
According to Meredith Lee and Wing Mer Liong, who will be heading up Jam Coding’s operations in Malaysia, “Our workshops will give children vital life-skills in AI, coding, cybersecurity, and more – not just to prepare them for the future workplace, but to empower them as digital citizens.” They also emphasized the importance of supporting parents and schools to ensure that the learning continues beyond the workshop room.
The Digital Pioneer Schools Programme
At the heart of Jam Coding’s Malaysian journey is the Digital Pioneer Schools program, a brand new initiative that allows schools to work closely with Jam Coding to bring world-class computing education directly into classrooms. Schools that join the program will receive hands-on coding and computing workshops for pupils, training for teachers, family sessions to bring parents into the conversation, and access to Jam Coding’s resources and expertise.
The program is designed to provide schools with the support they need to deliver high-quality digital education, and to help bridge the digital divide. By working together, Jam Coding and participating schools can ensure that every child has the chance to develop the skills they need to succeed in the digital age.
What’s Next?
The official launch of Jam Coding’s Malaysian operations will take place at BETT Asia in Kuala Lumpur on October 1st-2nd, 2025. From late 2025, Jam Coding will begin enrolling schools into the Digital Pioneer Schools program and delivering workshops across Malaysia. With its expansion into Malaysia, Jam Coding is poised to make a significant impact on the lives of thousands of children, and to help shape the future of digital education in the region.
