Dame Arlene Phillips DBE Partners with Bluebird Care to Support Dementia Care Mission
Celebrity choreographer and dementia activist, Dame Arlene Phillips DBE, has partnered with national home care provider Bluebird Care to support their mission to become the leading dementia specialist in home care. This new role was announced at a launch event for Bluebird Care’s fundraising partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, for whom Dame Arlene is already an ambassador.
A Passionate Advocate for Dementia Care
Dame Arlene is a renowned celebrity choreographer, known for her work on hit Broadway and West End shows, as well as her role as a judge on the television programme Strictly Come Dancing. However, it was her personal experience with dementia care, following her father’s diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease, that led her to become a vocal advocate for increased awareness and improved care for the disease. As an Alzheimer’s Society Ambassador, Dame Arlene has been dedicated to raising awareness and promoting better care for those affected by dementia.
At the launch event, Dame Arlene welcomed Bluebird Care’s pledge to donate over £50,000 to Alzheimer’s Society, which will be raised through fundraising activities across Bluebird Care’s teams in the coming months. She will also join Bluebird Care at their annual conference in September to present their latest fundraising efforts to Alzheimer’s Society.

Dame Arlene engaged in conversations with Bluebird Care’s care experts, discussing the importance of specialised dementia care, the value of carers in delivering excellent care, and the role of celebrities and public figures in raising awareness and advocating for improvements for those living with dementia. The care experts praised Dame Arlene’s passion for the cause and reflected on the significance of the day in bringing people together who share a commitment to supporting those living with dementia.
