Barking Mad Goes the Extra Mile for Breast Cancer Now

Joining Forces for a Great Cause: Barking Mad’s Support for Breast Cancer Now

The Barking Mad team recently joined forces with their sister brands, Ovenclean and ChipsAway, to participate in Breast Cancer Now’s annual “Wear it Pink” day. This event aimed to raise funds and awareness for vital breast cancer research and support. The team’s efforts were inspired by their colleague Amy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. Her strength and resilience have been a beacon of hope, uniting the entire Franchise Brands B2C family in support of her and this important cause.

A Personal Connection to the Cause

Amy’s diagnosis has made this year’s campaign feel especially personal for everyone at Barking Mad. The team’s experience has shown that breast cancer can affect anyone, and it’s essential to support those affected and work towards finding a cure. According to Breast Cancer Now, over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK, making it one of the most common types of cancer. The charity’s mission is to ensure that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live – and live well.

Raising Awareness and Funds

The Barking Mad network went all-in on pink, with team members wearing specially branded pink t-shirts, baking treats, and coming together to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Now. The team’s efforts were supported by their uniform supplier, Your Name On It, who kindly printed the pink t-shirts free of charge. Additionally, many colleagues, including Amy, are taking part in Breast Cancer Now’s “100 Miles in October” challenge, walking, running, and cycling hundreds of miles to raise even more for the cause.

AmyRebecca de Chair, Group Marketing Manager – B2C Division, said, “Amy’s courage has inspired us all. Taking part in both ‘Wear it Pink’ and the ‘100 Miles in October’ challenge has given everyone across our brands a chance to come together – to do something active, positive, and meaningful in support of her and this incredible charity.”

A Message of Thanks

The Barking Mad team wants to express their gratitude to everyone who donated, took part, or cheered them on. Together, they’ve made a difference, not only for Amy but also for everyone affected by breast cancer. If you’d like to show your support, please visit their Just Giving page.
