Ending Loneliness With The Glamour Club

Combating Loneliness with The Glamour Club

The Glamour Club is a pioneering initiative that aims to tackle social isolation and loneliness in Worthing and beyond. By hosting regular vintage-themed events, the organization provides a platform for people to connect, have fun, and build meaningful relationships. These events, which take place on Saturday afternoons between noon and 3 pm, have been selling out weeks in advance, demonstrating the pressing need for such initiatives.

The Glamour Club is committed to being dementia-friendly, disability confident, and eco-friendly, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and included. For individuals struggling with loneliness or seeking to expand their social circle, The Glamour Club offers a unique opportunity to make new friends and enjoy a great time. As Chris, the founder of Promedica24 West Sussex, notes, “Loneliness is rife across the UK, and it has never been more important to pull together and do our bit in our communities.”

What to Expect at The Glamour Club

Upon arrival, guests are greeted and escorted to their tables, where they are treated to a delightful afternoon tea with freshly made sandwiches and traditional cakes, accompanied by unlimited cups of tea or coffee. The sophisticated live entertainment features songs from the 1940s to the 1970s, encouraging guests to sing, dance, and have a wonderful time. The events are carefully designed to foster a sense of community and connection among attendees.

Upcoming Event: Easter Bonnet & Top Hat Bonanza

The next event, scheduled for Saturday, April 2nd, 2022, promises to be an exciting celebration. Taking place at The Hope Centre, St Stephens Church, Angola Road, Worthing, BN14 8DU, the event will run from 12 pm to 3 pm. Tickets are available for £12, and attendees are encouraged to don their finest Easter bonnets and top hats for a fun-filled afternoon.
