New New Subway Kids Pack

Introducing the New Subway Kids Pack: A Fun and Nutritious Meal Option for Children

The new Subway Kids Pack, available in Subway stores across England, Scotland, and Wales, is a refreshing and healthy meal option that combines tasty food with a take-home pack of seeds for youngsters to plant and grow. This innovative pack is brought to life by six colorful, salad-inspired characters, known as the Salad Squad. The pack is designed to encourage children to develop healthy eating habits and learn about the importance of introducing vegetables and salads into their diets.

In October, Subway GB introduced the new Subway Kids’ Pack, which includes a complimentary packet of seeds for children to take home and plant their own tomatoes, sweetcorn, lettuce, and other tasty vegetables. The pack is part of Subway’s efforts to promote healthy eating habits among children and encourage them to make better food choices. The Salad Squad characters, including Lou, Bella, Lola, Edmund, and twin tomatoes Rob & Todd, were chosen for their nutritional variety and will help kids learn about the fascinating facts and nutrition that each delicious vegetable provides.

What’s in the New Subway Kids Pack?

Each Kid’s Pack features a member of the Salad Squad and includes a 100% recyclable box design, promoting the nutritional benefits of each vegetable. The pack also comes with a complimentary packet of seeds, allowing children to grow their own vegetables at home. The seeds included in the pack are for tomatoes, sweetcorn, lettuce, and other tasty vegetables, providing kids with a fun and interactive way to learn about gardening and healthy eating.

According to Angelina Gosal, Subway’s Head of Marketing for the UK and Ireland, “Too often, a child’s meal lacks taste and nutrition, which can make it hard for families eating out who want a quick and easy meal. We wanted to make sure that families coming into Subway stores have even more reason for their child to enjoy a fun and tasty meal, without having to compromise on nutrition or value.” The Kids Pack is an exciting launch that promotes healthy eating and provides children with a fun and engaging way to learn about vegetables and salads.

Expert Insights on Healthy Eating for Children

Elaine Hindal, Chief Executive at the British Nutrition Foundation, notes that “Current childhood obesity figures are worryingly high with nearly 1 in 3 children (38%) overweight or obese by the time they leave primary school. The evidence supporting the importance of good nutrition in children is clear. Their nutrition and lifestyle influence, their wellbeing, growth and development, and food patterns in childhood can set the scene for future dietary preferences and eating behaviours in adult life.” The British Nutrition Foundation emphasizes the importance of promoting healthy eating habits among children and providing them with nutritious food options.

The launch of the Subway Kids Pack follows Subway’s recent collaboration with the popular Peas Please Veg Pledge with the Food Foundation, as the QSR brand continues to encourage its guests (young and old) to make better choices by selecting extra portions of fresh vegetables or salads. Every year, Subway serves guests a significant amount of fresh vegetables, including over 3,200 tonnes of iceberg lettuce, 2,500 tonnes of tomatoes, more than 2,000 tonnes of sweetcorn, and 1,600 tonnes of cucumbers.
