BFA Launches 2026 Awards
The BFA has officially launched the 37th annual BFA HSBC UK British Franchise Awards 2026, celebrating excellence across the UK franchising sector.
Running since 1989, the awards recognise the achievements of franchisors and franchisees from across the BFA’s network of more than 2,300 members, highlighting innovation, leadership and operational excellence within the industry.
Celebrating the Best in UK Franchising
The awards programme shines a spotlight on standout businesses and individuals who are driving growth and raising standards across the sector. Winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on 12 November 2026 in Telford.
Entries for this year’s awards close on 5 June 2026.
About the BFA
Established in 1977, the British Franchise Association is the UK’s self-regulatory body for franchising. Membership is subject to a rigorous accreditation process, with members committing to uphold the association’s Code of Ethics.
The organisation provides education, guidance and ongoing support to ensure franchise businesses operate to high ethical and professional standards. The BFA is also a member of the World Franchise Council and the European Franchising Federation.
Strong Performance Across the Sector
Franchising continues to play a significant role in the UK economy. According to the latest British Franchise Survey (2024), the sector contributes £19.1 billion annually and has maintained a failure rate of less than 6% for over two decades.

Pip Wilkins, CEO of the BFA, said the launch marks an opportunity for members to showcase their achievements:

Last year’s Gold winner for Franchisor of the Year (Established), David Glover, described the recognition as a major milestone:
